El Lector
I've been sending out the Tobacco Bowl newsletter for about six years now - first in text form and now in the fancy pants HTML style - and have been searching for a name for it for all these years. I once asked everyone to E-mail me with their own ideas and, while there were many fine suggestions, nothing struck me just right.

In the old days of handrolling cigars in Havana and, later, in Tampa there was not widespread use of radio and certainly not television. To help pass the days of tedious bunching, binding and wrapping, the rollers would chip in their own money to pay a reader or 'lector' to read the day's news from the local paper, magazine articles or even novels aloud.
I hope that you find El Lector informative and fun and that it helps to while away the time it takes you to smoke that churchill or belicoso.
To receive El Lector and to be kept up to date with new product arrivals, in-store cigar events, what's up with me and what's up with downtown, just click on Newsletter over on the right side of this page.
